Making a better wage doesn't make you a bad socialist. It just means the bourgeoisie is stealing slightly less of the value of your labor.
If you don't own a business / employee people, then you're still proletariat. It's good you're checking in with yourself about this, however, that's how you maintain class consciousness.
There is no virtue in poverty. As socialists, we work to eliminate poverty. Remember what side you are on and don't get complacent. Glad you're making a better wage, everyone deserves a good life.
You're welcome. You could consider using the extra bandwidth you have to join a local org. Being a bit further away from the meat grinder is good, that's the space you often need to help others.
Don't let anyone shame you for making a living wage. The bourgeoisie spends a lot of effort getting the working class to act like crabs in a bucket.
It sounds like you've caught a break. You can pass that on and hold the door open for others when the time comes.
Nonprofits are fine and often do decent work. There are plenty of valid critiques and they cannot really be revolutionary, but they can still sometimes have some utility.
Being on a nonprofit board only sounds impressive until you've actually spent some time around nonprofits, so I get what you mean lol
