Yeah the gm of 22 years was just forcibly retired by corporate and we got a new like buddy buddy gm and literally nothing has changed. Had a shift last week that was just me and one other person I went through all the stages of grief and ended up feeling just so tired and beaten down it was like I was experiencing nirvana
love it how customers think we run the mega-corp store as a collective co-op, have price raising meetings in the back, and try to screw them over constantly so we can bring home a bigger chunk of the profits. i guess they really do believe the U.S. has turned communist
I had one person tell me that "you're killing yourselves"not because we didn't carry the product she was looking for but because it was too expensive. I was like "yeah I've been thinking about it" and she said not like personally like the company. Didn't even notice or care 🙃🙃
Working in retail has made me want to guillotine regular ass people
It's what made me a Stalinist. Oh the Soviet Union only had one kind of bread? Stuff is rationed so everyone gets a fair amount? No customers complaining about product, stock, or prices because they understand a committee decides those things in Moscow and I have zero control over it? Sign me up.
If I was planning the economy, I'd be rolling out my Five Year Plans to abolish retail as much as possible. It takes maaaad labour hours, nobody enjoys it, and it's easily worked around with modern techniques.
I saw "this is where you belong" on the hiring sign outside a golf store and my lord that was a kick in the gut
