I'm more offended by Pharmaceuticals and Nationalism not combining to produce Fascism.

This made me curious about what does "unlock" Fascism. It looks like it's the Political Agitation tech, which requires Anarchism, Socialism, and Pan-nationalism to be researched. Political Agitation raises the minimum expected standard of living for literate pops, and also unlocks the Outlawed Dissent law, and the Fascist political party

Ah, a thing that was invented in checks notes the 1930s.

God damn this game is lib-brained.

It's better than I expected in a lot of ways, but definitely not perfect lol, as evidenced by the research tree. The whole system of interest groups seems to work pretty well though. The way it effects and is effected by different material conditions in your country is pretty cool. Like where building up your industry moves pops from the peasant group to the laborer group, which in turn builds support for the trade union interest group, and increases demand for social and governmental changes, which can lead to a revolution if they reach a certain critical mass without being death with.

It kind of feels like they put in all their lib-brain stuff, but then had to fill in the blanks with a very watered-down version of historical materialism to make it all work properly lol
