I have covid and today's the last day to pick up my paxlovid from the pharmacy for it to have any effect, but my car has a flat tire. I've been trying for 3 days to get the lugnuts off, and I just can't get them unstuck. I'm using the shitty 8-inch tire iron that came with my car, and can't get enough leverage. I've tried jumping on it, I've tried beating it with a hammer, but they won't come off. And it's made even tougher by my diminished breathing and strength due to covid.

You haven't jacked it up yet, right? You wanna use the weight of the car to keep the tire from moving. If you're very, very careful you can try using a torch or a heat gun. If you've got a mallet you can try giving the lug nuts a couple of smacks directly. Don't beat the shit out of them tho. You don't wanna damage the posts.

Right, I figured that jacking the car up would allow the tire to move, which would make it harder to get the nuts off.

I don't have a mallet, but I have a hammer. Would hitting the lugnuts directly with the hammer damage them?
