Every year in Lviv, Ukrainians celebrate the creation of the Nazi Waffen SS Galizien division. The division was famous mainly for the genocide against Russians, Poles and Jews. Ukrainians are proud of the work of their ancestors as you can see. It is very sad

When was this filmed? Very curious and it's the first question anyone will ask me if I post it anywhere else.

I think it's pretty powerful to point out to people the lack of counter protesters to a literal nazi march. Anywhere else in the world you will have a significant and much larger anti-nazi march at anything nazis do. Even in the countries like Italy where the fascist party is literally in power, the anti-fascists will be out in force at everything. But curiously in Ukraine there are never any anti fascists anywhere, there is zero opposition to nazism.

lack of counter protesters to a literal nazi march

Truly a dark thing. There are many cuts, but in none of them do I see anyone even looking like they are trying to be in opposition (although they could be edited/cut out). Plenty of people in the background, some filming, many just going about their business....

Do these people truly believe they would have been left alone by the Nazis? Should the Nazis somehow overpowered Russia, did they think Hitler wasn't going to "cleanse" them from the Earth as well?

Propaganda is a motherfucker. Millions of Ukrainians in the 40s understood exactly who the Nazis were and why they had to be opposed, with only a few thousand choosing the opposite - but thirty years of capitalism has completely inverted the understanding of history.

This. I had an ahah moment and went to look at how much support Bandera actually had. 20,000 OUN-B members at their peak, and 100,000 UPA fighters. At their peak. Meanwhile there were 4-7 million Ukrainians just in the Red Army, to say nothing of the millions and millions of civilians.

Yes. Slavic nazis are 100% certain they are aryan and that they will be welcomed in the Reich. A lot of them moved to Western Germany after the war, or after the Iron Curtain fell, in the firm believe that their children or grandchildren could become "true Germans" by being assimilated into the Volksgemeinschaft. They are completely oblivious to the full extend of the Generalplan Ost, tune out all the massacres the Wehrmacht commited against Slavic civilians ("but these were communists / partisans / not true hwhite people like me!") and believe the exterminations would have stopped after all the Jews and Romani and Bolsheviks were murdered. It is beyond the shadow of a doubt to them that their personal definition of whiteness is absolutely universal and they completely lose their shit when somebody points out to them that to the Westerner, there is zero difference between them and the neighbors they would've gladly ratted out and sent to the camps.

Edit: It's worth pointing out that these people also are as tiny a minority as @Frank describes. The support for fascism in today's Ukraine didn't grow organically, it was manufactured. That nobody takes them seriously has never stopped fascists, though.

the full extend of the Generalplan Ost

This is so wild to me because Generalplan Ost isn't exactly WWII "Deep Lore" or anything. I always thought Slavic Nazis had to be exceptionally stupid, but maybe they're stupid and ignorant?
