It's time to stop making this ridiculous comparison.
Pigs are highly intelligent, compassionate creatures who care about the suffering of others. Stop this nonsense.
what the fuck is an "agricultural fair" and why would anyone go to one
look at pigs? be educated about dairy? dawg I got pork chops and milk and cheese at HOME
You look at pigs, but they're all some farmer's idea of what their best pig is, so it's a pretty good collection of pigs. Basically the same thing as an art fair. It's mild fun.
These are usually combined with a state fair, so then you go eat deep-fried butter and wonder why there are so many people trying to sell you hot tubs.
If you instead go to a specialist one for sheep, you can pet the sheep, buy a nice sweater, and watch a sheepdogging competition. This is actually a blast.
I've been to a few that are actually pretty cool over the years but this one looks like it's pretty grim given that it's all inside
Both cities I've lived in Australia have them. I don't go, but they usually have more than farm stuff. It's more like an old timey carnival with rides and shows and novelty candy. Local farmers advertise their stuff there. I know some artists that sometimes set up stalls.
