One of the members who skipped (anonymized):

    Show

They tried defending themselves on Twitter, saying they "didn't feel comfortable" meeting the President. It's no wonder why. I think all of the members who skipped are Miami gusanos part of the Trot/SAlt caucuses

      SAlt as in "Socialist Alternative"?

Yeah, they've always been wreckers and sectarians.

My Australian comrades hate a similar org called "Socialist Alternative" in, well, Australia; I think they have multiple branches, the most well-known being the one in America and, I think, the UK, correct me if I'm wrong.

Yes that org. Their only success is Sawant's councilship in Seattle. Just another petty bourg "socialist" org.

It's disappointing to see them doing this shit because Sawant is actually really good by US standards and they should just stick to local politics if that is all they are good for and never ever be allowed to represent anything on the international level.

The original post isn't about Socialist Alternative though? Those caucuses belong to the DSA (Democratic Socialists of Amerikkka).

No need when they put the jackets on by themselves, knowingly or not.

People who get rhetorically close but don't cross were never going to in the first place.

Even so, wantonly fed-jacketing can ruin a community and has been done by actual feds.

Hmm. You gotta expain this one to me. Calling out these bozos (it's your post tho?) will ruin which community?

In the past, feds would fed-jacket communists in order to divide the community and start witch-hunts against fellow comrades, turning comrades against comrades.

This happened especially during the 60s/70s.

              And in other eras.

              It's a common FBI tactic.

...right. I understand the concept, but cheers. I fail to see how it applies here. To a post criticising a socialist group for being undercover libs, the oppest of ops lol. A post you submitted mind. Come on.

It's not right to wantonly call others feds if we don't have enough information. Come on now, comrade.

There are many good comrades in DSA.

It matters because it shouldn't be normalized.

    Full article is linked here

It seems Red Star is the only caucus in the DSA with decent revolutionary socialist politics, at least according to this overview.

Socialist Majority and Reform&Revolution are both Democrat aligned caucuses. Even worse, they are the two largest caucuses in the DSA.

This issue reflects the fundamentally treacherous nature of the USA white settler left as discussed by J Sakai in his book Settlers, which is mostly only interested in increasing its own share of the colonial spoils rather than actual international liberation.
