Doesnt mean that it couldnt have been better tho
It runs pretty poorly at times, which sucks. It feels like game freak just kinda suxks at 3D game environment modeling to be honest.
But the new pokes are cute and cool and the human characters are fun and the music is good so I think it's still a good game so far
It seems fun but it runs like absolute shit for me, which I think is only as noticeable as it is for me because of an ADHD thing (explained in spoiler for those who give a shit) which means that the frame rate dips tend to do this weird pitch warble to the music whose playback speed seems dependent on the rest of the engine as well, meaning as it slows and speeds up the pitch shifts ever so slightly and it drives me the fuck insane. Everyone I mention it to literally cannot hear it though so... YMMV.
Once I turned music off though it's been super enjoyable, outside of a few particularly bad frame drops. I'm only super early in but it's fairly fun. I do feel like a lot of the new pokemon remind me of like old school fanfic tier rom hack pokemon which has been kinda funny, but I mean fuck it I'm a digimon fan so creativity obviously isn't high on my list of monster game requirements.

I don't remember the name of the long and boring computerized test, but basically when not medicated my ears will overwrite my eyes really fucking hard, like, really really hard. My visual attention falls off a fucking cliff when provided audio stimulus to the point that it was around 2nd percentile (I think I'm using that word right) on a bell curve, meaning worse than 98% of people. Conversely my audio attention was at around 90th percentile pre medication. Medicated my visual is almost the definition of average, and my audio is like 98th percentile. I still am way more easily distracted by audio than visual stimulus, but it doesn't suffer so much that I actually lose attention any more than the average person really, and as a bonus my ears are still like fucking radars. This is especially bad if the noise is something particularly shitty most people can't hear or aren't bothered by. On the plus side I frequently piss people off in multiplayer games by tracking/distinguishing them by audio cues or sounds alone, especially in games where you can pre-fire corners or hear enemies above/below/through walls. Before I was medicated though I would have massive fucking breakdowns if my hearing was negatively affected because I couldn't just not focus on it, and I was plagued by ear infections etc as a kid (not from the hearing thing, just because of shitty luck I imagine), or I was useless if I couldn't shut the world out with headphones for a bit when trying to focus on a task and never understood why, etc. Shit sucked.
Didn't Pokemon Quartz take place in a Spain themed region?
Haha now that you mention it I think so. I remember it at least being mostly spanish -> english with occasional untranslated bits and other confusing things. I wonder if they work for Nintendo now.
Man now you've got me thinking about rom hacks, and the DBZ pokemon red with goku and vegeta and pokemon knowing kamehameha.
