let me be gay please. Persona 2 did it more than 20 years ago this shit is getting embarrassing
Or even just don't make an exception in the game's themes for queer people! P5 is like "break free from societal expectations! But not, like, in a queer way" and it drives me up a fucking wall. Though that's still better than P4's core theme of "anything about you that you don't like is just you being delusional and you need to accept the 'truth' about yourself and conform". Naoto accepting the "hard truth" that she can "never pass the barrier between the sexes" makes me want to throw up- and hey, what do you know, it also conveniently makes Kanji's attraction to her not gay, isn't that interesting.
no mascot character for the love of god
I'm still so confused by how P3 had 2 mascot characters that were relatively inoffensive (Koromaru and Aigis), and then P4 and P5 made two of the most obnoxious mascots I've ever seen (at least it's not a straight "things getting worse" progression- Teddie is by far worse than Morgana)
social links shouldn’t be just you agreeing with a person
100%. So much of the social links end up feeling so manipulative- which, I mean, they're clearly borrowing a lot from dating sims, which are Manipulation: The Genre. But still.
