Every anime protagonist and trope is trying to have their plots unfold and he just doesn't care and wants to go back to grilling
KOTH but with charcoal because it is the superior grilling medium. Also updated to modern day.
Grillman is a Gen Xer trying to be a boomer, but unable to truly capture that life. He's got a couple Zoomer kids that he loves but doesn't quite relate to. He works a gig economy job on the weekends and pays over half his income in rent. His wife is an Instagram influencer, but not a super successful one (she also works a gig economy job). In the pilot episode they think they're about to get their student loans forgiven, which would be a huge financial help to them, but then it doesn't happen (the episode's B plot is their neighbor investing into crypto and getting rugpulled).
Literally just a slice of life about grilling and all the kinds he can do, preferably in the iyashikei mold. cf. other works about occupations or hobbies like Yuru Camp, Bartender, Aria, etc.
Anything else would be unfaithful to his zen composure.
It will be about owning a big house and complaining that he is paid too much to check out and sack his own groceries. He wouldn't care about any issue until it effected him personally, then he would throw a child like tantrum. Ultimately he decides he will just grill his problems away while slowly building more racist thoughts to blame others and explain away why he is so unhappy.
