I'll be honest, I haven't really played Bloodlines much. I probably should.
It's great. If you like Super and Rondo of Blood, it's the next best one.
Bloodlines for me. Cool locations. Great music and Michiru Yamane's first CV OST I think? I like the two characters and different playstyles. I like the bright colours and less-generic story locales. Rondo is my favourite linear Castlevania though.
I like Super because you can wave around the whip and whip swing.

You can swing in bloodlines. I think he's talking about just making the whip go limp and just randomly swining it though, not just swinging from things.
I'm honestly torn on which I like more lol. Both are cool. Probably going to have to go with Super though.
I've only played Dawn of Sorrow and Portrait of Ruin.

Seriously though, I’d go with SCIV. Bloodlines is worthy of appreciation but lacks the fine-tuned set pieces which made Super memorable.
There's people out there who don't like Bloodlines? Or do you mean Bastard child as in similar to Majoras mask wherein it's viewed as a good game, but not as good as Ocarina of time?
