I was using Passive Voice™- my exasperation was not aimed at you. It's just depressing how companies could just cram this shit down everyone's throats and now it's here to stay. I remember being offended down to my very core when Gears of War 3 sold weapon skin packs as DLC back in 2011. I was then flabbergasted when approximately 80 percent of players I saw had paid skins

Oh, I got that. My ire is with the many times I've received "vote with your wallet" and "if you don't like it don't buy it, simple" dismissive responses to increasingly greedy and cynical monetization practices getting normalized.
