Make sure they are actually demsocs. Argue for an independent party for the working class and working class institutions to function as the base of that party. Try to examine authority and legitimacy in the context of colonialism. Promote anti-imperialism hard and educate them on how it works and how evil it is.
The masses don't need to all be the vanguard but they have to trust the vanguard more than the bourgeoisie.
Also try to hook them up with actual organizing materials or trainings.
