Same, the Moka pot is so easy and always makes a perfect cup of espresso. Unlike the libs who can fuck up the settings and make sour coffee. Plus you can bring a Moka pot camping, it makes perfect coffee over a fire too (just don't melt the handle).
It does make a very strong cup I'll admit that, I typically drink it with a teaspoon of turbinado sugar for 2 ounces. In my experience though, the coffee roasting is the biggest effect. I find coffee companies often make their espresso as an afterthought, they make it "dark" (aka burnt to shit). Once I switched to a medium roast my coffee started tasting way better!
I also don't trust myself to try and make an espresso from a :LIB: machine. I've been to several coffee shops that over saturated the coffee so it was sour instead of bitter, and if they can't get it right I don't feel confident that I could. So I'll stick with my Moka maker.

Never tastes burnt to me. The only thing I've ever had to do is occasionally replace seals. Maybe you've just had it from cheap Moka makers?
This is real leftist fracturing in action though.
