One of the most prominent soccer journalists In the U.S. has died at the World Cup.

He was 50~ and otherwise healthy*, it doesn't seem unlikely that there was foul play involved, but who knows

It has emerged that Wahl featured on a podcast the day before his death and eluded to feeling sick. A colleague says Wahl confirmed to other members on the podcast he went to a medical facility to be checked for what he suspected was bronchitis.

Wahl earlier this week revealed he was strggling with a throat issue and a lack of sleep — and had been to a medical centre at the media centre in Qatar twice.

    Not entirely sure Qatar would go out and kill a journo like this, especially mid tournament. Plus in this COVID world I'm not surprised by 'healthy' folk dropping dead. Regardless, a great opportunity for wild speculation!
