We're in MGS 2 meta territory with Fujimoto deliberately re-doing the Eternity Devil arc from part 1, with the exact same number of characters in pretty similar roles (we got Kobeni 2.0 LMAO, probably her younger brother), right down to the central conflict (are we going to kill Denji?) - with everything possibly being justified within the narrative as someone (Famine?) probably trying to recreate the events of part 1 to their own purpose, just shittier because we have high schoolers instead of Public Safety. Sheeeeeesh I wish I could write this well.
It's nice to get confirmation on Yoshida's status as an official Public Safety Devil Hunter, but that does raise some questions as to Denji's and Kishibe's.
Asa is such a flawed character, but Fujimoto really bends over backwards to make her sympathetic- her lecturing Denji on morality without knowing his circumstances (and like, he just took $10 c'mon) while she's been ostracized because no one knows her own circumstances... damn. Also someone must have told Haruka exactly which buttons to push cos DAMN that was ice cold.
Denji's the one in Aki's position patrolling the halls this time :kitty-cri: , although in typical Dennis fashion I can't tell if he's just hustling or legitimately looking for the devil, but either way I respect it.
This shit is going to be wild when shit hits the fan and I'm just happy to be along for the ride.
