    I can’t really conceptualise of them as anything more than people on tv

    Without doxxing myself, I can say that I have been in the same room as billionaires during at least one social function. What I saw was what I got: they are paper-thin and skin-crawlingly insulated from the rest of us. We're toys to them.

      that's more or less what i expected

      I still hate bookies and landlords more but because I see their effects more directly

        The creepiest part was it was during a charity function. Someone bragging about charity couldn't hide their contempt for poor people. It was a flex, and nothing more.

          rich people engage in charity traditionally as a means of exercising control and getting a power thrill

          they're there to hear poor people beg for their life and occasionally helping is the cost of the show
