Interesting video. I don't really like the aging angle, I don't think it's an argument that will get through to many people as it's at a level that's much too high to digest for the average person although I don't really disagree with the points made.

One thing I will disagree with is the lack of class analysis in one of the earlier questions posed "What exactly is the purpose of a body and how does medical transition threaten that?". A marxist would come at this from the understanding that the working class are a productive labour force that the bourgeoisie views as their tool for creating wealth, the purpose of a body in this sense is to perform labour and to reproduce itself so that more labour can be performed in future. A system based on infinite growth like capitalism is incentivised to pursue that this labour force grow forever, and if it does not grow forever then that's a problem.

Trans people slot into the existing issue of aging populations, declining imperial core birthrates and opposition to immigration in a way that threatens the bourgeoisie's pursuit of higher birthrates and an infinite labour force. Trans people don't slot into the system well, and as a scary unknown thing that you can make shit up about they are also a very useful attack vector to use if your goal is to roll back feminist victories in order to control women's bodies more so you can pursue higher birthrates.

That's without even getting into the fact trans people create support networks, have created a vast network of trans people performing a kind of mutual aid with one another (without any anarchist or socialist intent behind it). This support was born out of necessity, the adversity trans people face has generated a solidarity among one another and a willingness to support one another in ways that are well outside of social norms. This all occurs as a means of their own survival in a system they do not fit into, they create their own systems at the fringe of society.

In short, trans people threaten their system. This woman missed the point though, she mentions religion as one reason but recognises that a huge number of them are atheists, she then reaches for this aging argument (inherently an idealist analysis) because she's not performing a marxist class analysis.

Oh and also no amount of talking about aging will help or change anything for trans people. Only talking about the real reasons for the rulers of the system deciding trans people threaten it will help trans people.
