shure cartridge? those changers can sound great!

do all the automatic functions work right? putting on a stack of albums and going about your day is a lost joy.

Sadly, it didn't come with the little arm thing that allows you to change records. It does play all four speeds and adjusts speeds automatically. I think I'm going to get that shure cartridge. I'm just really afraid to break something, and I haven't seen a lot of how to videos on youtube for a turntable from 1967.

there's a manual on vinylengine that shows it using some version of the pickering xv/625/stanton 6xx. you can still get styluses for those from a bunch of places, theyll be either jico or pfansthiel "brands" (they're both repackagers of the output from many different factories). either elliptical or spherical profiles would be fine and they're also real cheap.

when you say "the arm" are you talking about the overarm that presses down on the stack of records on old record players or the spindle? those miracord changers use the same type of system that dual and technics changers used where the changer spindle has little platforms that retract to let a record drop and pop back out to keep the rest up there. usually changers like that came with a single play spindle that was just a little stub as well. on the miracord its a little plastic bat i think.

manual and service manual link (requires free registration)

whatever you wanna get done just holler, i'll help any way i can.

e: the cart is an elac branded sts 244-17. still looks like a pickering but just to be safe, it takes the d244 stylus which crosses to evg part number 2560d. anyway here's one from not ebay and here's the cheaper ebay one.

I only know one song from that (and not its title) but it’s a real banger. I bet it’s super cool with all sorts of texture etc, nicely done

I looked everything up on hi-fi engine, and scoured posts on audio karma. I don't think anyone can tell of something really works without actually plugging it on and testing it, though.
