With that said, I disagree with any generational version of "that's just how it is." 4chan had that attitude about some horrid stuff that was allowed to fester, too.
It's helpful to remember that in any online space a significant portion of the people you're talking to are literal children
That is an important thing to remember.
Childhood is a time of forming foundations and absorbing a lot of new information and trying to make sense of it all. The importance of that time should never be dismissed.
