On average it seems like a gradual leftward shift, but personally I worry whether the trend is too unfocused and slow to affect things too much. After all, there are weapons capable of ending virtually all life that have been sitting around, collecting dust. The leftward shift could snowball though and potentially turn into something, it really depends how well the propaganda can hold up and how much wealth the Western ultrawealthy are willing and able to part with in the short term to shore up their support and whether they are able to attain technological supremacy over all peoples somehow.
It's safe to assume that the imperialists headquartered in the United States are going to try everything possible to keep the unsustainable sham at home afloat, at least for the mortgage-holding professional class that's automating all the surveillance tech, war machines, computers, algorithms, and financialization for their envisioned police planet. The longer things drag out, the more likely it is that this will involve recalling investments from Europe, which is probably why Eastern Europe is being setup as the next :freedom-and-democracy: site right now.
It seems like for the US and Western Europe there is probably a much more overt fascist turn domestically looming, which can also serve as a sort of recalling of investments from the underclasses. If the finish line is close, there might be a genuine parting with wealth in order to prevent labour unrest, like what was possible via extraction in the Global South post-WW2, based on the expectation that their technological domination will allow them to quickly recall that wealth.
In my mind, the future is decided by the timing and aptitude of the aforementioned police planet technologies, whether China avoids addiction to capitalism, whether/when the Sino-US War breaks out & obviously whether it goes thermonuclear, to what extent the domestic constituents of current NATO powers like UK/France/Germany are able to be crushed similarly to the US.
