I was just informed by Max Alvarez, the Editor-in-Chief at The Real News, that they will no longer run my show. The reason for the cancellation, he said, is that my critiques of Biden, especially for the genocide in Gaza, jeopardizes his nonprofit status. My last show with Dennis Kucinich, who is running as an independent for Congress in Ohio, was removed from the site.
It's honestly fucking incredible how much he rides for Israel. I admit to knowing he was shit on Israel before he was elected, but I didn't truly understand how evil he was on the topic until that beheaded babies speech. I cannot emphasize enough how much of a personal "oh... fuck..." glimpse of the future I got when he said that shit. I really really really despise him. I hate Trump too, but Biden in the last 7 months has made me become almost religious but in a pure hatred type of way. Just to hope there's a hell for him to burn in. I didn't think I could despise a politician more than I did Dick Cheney or Rumsfeld or Obama or Hillary... and then Biden came back in with some kind of resurrected corpse of Rumsfeld and called it Kirby. Blood magic.
One of the things that drives me nuts is how the beheaded babies and rape stories that aired immediately after the attack spooked a ton of reactionary liberals into fully supporting israel even after those stories were debunked.
I've been sending them videos of atrocities committed by IOF soldiers in Gaza but they completely ignore them and only reply with state dept news articles.
If they seem like otherwise "good" people I'd say a lot of that is internalized learned racism from specifically 23 years of pure anti-Arab, anti-Muslim racism and xenophobia being pounded on about basically 24/7. Liberals kinda took a rest on the overtly racist shit circa 2016 but all it took was one "terror attack" by people outwardly brown skinned and probably all Arabic speaking Muslims for their brains to go "oh I know what this is. 9/11, Iraq War, we can say sorry later but first we gotta just let the military handle this otherwise I'll get shot on the NYC subway" or whatever.
I experienced the same generalized shock because as someone who was a teen when 9/11 happened and then grew up in the subsequent decades of unrestrained, allowable racism towards people perceived as Arabs but have since shook off whatever shit I was taught... I guess I thought more white people had also seen through the bullshit. I also thought more people could see that what was done to Afghanistan and Iraq was objectively bad for everyone, even playing towards the tendency for Americans to only value American or European lives, and of course money wasted.
I don't shy from calling people evil or dumbass or both as I see fit, but I also do allow some room for "you are behaving like an evil dumbass right now... are you actually that stupid or did CNN mixed with your deranged focus on Trump being bad melt your brain just as bad as the fully aware hogs?" It's like all the hogs calling CNN fake news reverse engineered a lot of lib brains into not saying the truth which is "yeah a lot of shit on CNN is objectively "fake" in a propagandistic type of way. They take stories and pump them up beyond proportionality (like "crime in cities" making it seem like a legit issue. And of course murder rates in some cities IS an issue I mean the focus on like "if you step foot on an NYC subway you'll be mugged then stabbed to death by the first homeless guy in sight" which is objectively basically happening at a 0% rate) or the focus (or non focus!) on American "foreign policy" to always spin it somehow that when US does it it's good and ok and if China does it it's literally Satanic in nature. Like I THOUGHT more liberals had seen through this super obvious, and evermore obvious, smokescreen or whatever.
But, apparently not. They all seem to just be marching in line behind the "liberal" media as it progresses further and further right wing. Because it's the Biden stance, it's the Pelosi stance, it's the Jeffries and Schumer stance. And the democrats are good, don't ever read and definitely don't ever think about anything, babies gotta burn, sorry guys...
It just seems more and more likely that whenever all these contradictions come to a head, and they just eventually, that doesn't mean a war or revolution, but something drastic will change and one group will crush the other, just how it goes. Whenever that happens I used to buy into the delusion of oh it's gonna be republicans vs democrats... seems more and more and more obvious that no these two groups of liberals are collapsing into each other, dems going further authoritarian, against all civil rights, while the republicans pick up this twisted view of like "no I'm the SJW actually" but for white people or Jewish people in the US/Israel where they aren't much of an oppressed group anymore (zero in Israel as they ARE the oppressors. And this isn't to discount actual real antisemitism, etc. etc. disclaimer for liberals in walls). They're just twisting into this final actually openly one party on all issues formation that will just spout lies and twisted bullshit views of their "justice" which involves being allowed to do genocides, no questions ever asked. The actual seekers of justice, those who haven't been calling themselves democrats really for a decade if not longer, are absolutely target number one since the truth and actual justice and the moral integrity to speak and stand against them is an existential threat. They may also toss the super far right Nazis under the bus too, which is actually kinda funny. I could easily see Trump or his successor being like "no no no all those protestors had to be shot... see? holds up swastika They were Nazis. Oh the other groups? Leftist? No no, folks. They were all Nazis. Ok, no more questions." Both sets of liberals forming a fascist-lite party and clipping the extremes would unironically make every anchor and a ton of soccer moms bust and squirt all of their SUVs. "Finally no more protests, no more mean guys in jackboots, except our brave police!, I don't have to worry about anything, just let congress handle it..."
