My country's parliament just stuck a super-sneaky twenty-year copyright term extension into the budget it passed less than a month ago. It's like, sure, let's just drastically deform the entertainment industry just so we can fulfill the terms of a bilateral agreement with the US that the next GOP president will probably tear up anyway. No big deal. Happens all the time.
