I'm redecorating my home and part of that involves how I'm shelving all of my books. I want to put a tchotchke on each shelf that's representative of the books thereupon. I've got a figurine of Moses splitting the seas between my Jewish and Christian scripture, and I've got a set of evolving great apes wandering along my natural history shelf.

I don't know what to do with my shelf of books written in French. Putting a souvenir from France on it is lazy, and most of my books aren't even from the boring, played-out Old France. I have no good ideas of how to visually a represent a language without just referring to its country of origin. I was considering a statuette of a noble frog, but I figured I should ask if anyone has a more high-brow idea.

Edit: Messed up the title. Also pic unrelated, that's boring bullshit.

You could get a small metal chochki with a subtle flour-de-lis on it. Or a small green wine bottle.
