    I wonder how difficult/costly it would be to just 3D print and paint train models? Maybe it would be more affordable than buying them, but there obviously would be a much higher time investment required, and you would have to pay a bit up front for the printer and various supplies.

    Is there a model train club you can join? They might have their own building and be willing to help you learn.

      It was just a random thought tbh. Just one of the many things I could see myself picking up one day. What attracts me is the idea of building something original and integrated into your home, so you can do fun things like deliver a piece of toast to another room through a tunnel in the walls. Maybe I could make something for my pet rats to ride in safely.
