For those who don't know, Chris Avellone is of the end considered the best writer currently in western RPGs. Apparently a couple years ago he was acting like a sex pest towards a young girl in his circle (for what it's worth, Stephanie Sterling says that people they personally know have said Avellone is a creep)

Anyways in the comments of this video there's a comment by some chud:

"So what? There's no proof of the allegations and also pretty much any great RPG of the past has had Avellones name on it. I'm tired of all these allegations, I just want my favorite game designer to start making games again"

Yeah, let's just ignore that he potentially assaulted someone so you can play your video games dude.

Kreia's contrarianism I abide because her goal was never to guide you, just manipulate you into carrying out your part of her plans, also I never felt like the narrative implied her moralizing was anything but self-absorbed justification

Also I never read Ravel as anything but a deeply tragic creature, as the Nameless One points out her riddle has no answer and she obfuscates to keep people at arm's length and herself feels lost and confused despite her power

It's wild that people latched onto Kreia as being super right about everything despite the fact that, you know, the end of the game has you stopping her.

If you go Dark Side she chides you for that too lol

The whole point of her doing that is to sow doubt and withhold her approval

The important part is that those Jedi Masters die and she can try to channel your soul void to kill the Force itself

Playing it on PC is now, as far as I'm concerned, the only valid option given you can't install the restoration project on a console. The game is literally unfinished. The publisher pushed it out the door early to make the Christmas holiday that year.

The Force. She wants to destroy the Force because it destroys lives and creates these giant wars in the stars, a sort of "Star War" if you will

Huh, that not a bad plan actually. The force as love craftian paracite isn't explored enough

I know nothing about Kreia since I haven't played KOTOR but on this, same. Ravel wasn't a self insert; she was a wreck. Incredibly powerful but a wreck all the same - and the writing makes it pretty clear IMO

Legit the first NPC I encountered who had motherly vibes that felt real

And then later abusive mother vibes

Same here, and honestly that dialog with her is like my third most appreciated moment of the game I think. Above would be the secret tomb you find with a shit-ton of your memories with warnings; and also the sensates vault.
