Most intelligence workers are white collar nerds. Just because someone works in the CIA doesn't make them a spy. It only makes sense to call them "spies" as a slur - which I respect.
But we should be as accurate with our words here. Calling her a pro-israeli spy is going to imply some mossad conspiracy when we have clear Cop to Cop collaboration going on.
Semantics matter because, "Israeli spy" or "pro israel spy" is essentially synonymous with Mossad. Now she could easily be Mossad but you better actually make that claim if you're gonna call her a spy.
The only source is this tweet with like 40likes and no supporting evidence from some dude with a reference to healthy lifestyle, exercise in their bio.
All I'm saying is we should take a healthy level of skepticism.
Does she actually work at the NYPD for counterterrorism? If so that pretty much wraps it up considering the NYPD have an office in Tel Aviv and run counterterrorist operations.
Who are the targets and who is receiving the info then? Because it sounds like youre accusing her of being Mossad, but then I'll redirect you to the start of the thread: https://hexbear.net/comment/4880137
I understand why you have that mental association but its wrong in this case. Cops also do intelligence and counter terrorism. So does the army. Doesnt make them spies unless they do espionage.
But it literally does? What exactly do you think espionage looks like in the 21st century? Yes you have field agents who are out collecting information inside embassies and stuff, but most of it is done through channels exactly like what this lady is doing. When the cops tap your phone to collect intelligence and then give that information to the CIA does that not count as spying because cops are bumbling idiots and not James Bond? This lady worked with the IDF and any information they gathered can be assumed to be given to Mossad if it was important enough.
Edit: I also just remembered the NYPD has an office in Tel Aviv that run counterterrorism projects.

That would make her a spy and that's my point. If you're gonna call her a spy you better at least be explicit in accusing her of working for Mossad. But no one was doing that.
That’s exactly what spies do. You don’t need to meet someone on a park bench and exchange briefcases anymore. Some spies actually go to other nations and stuff, but most of them are like this lady pretty much.
it says pro israel spy, not israeli spy.
She's not really a spy of any sort though. Nothing covert about it at all. No infiltration. Just a cop ordering cops to bash skulls
Most spies are just white collar nerds that work in an office building and move money and information around to the worst people on the planet.
This person is at least spy-adjascent as they work with intelligence.

This is just complaining about semantics. "Spy" and "intelligence workers" are essentially synonymous, and they all get the wall.
Yes, very anti-semantic

It says she worked with Israeli security forces.

Id forgotten nypd have ties to israel, this still feels more indicative of the nypd as a whole than anything to do with the individual
the tweet reads more like it implies a direct connection with mossad
If you’re running counterterrorism in Tel Aviv you are most likely working with mossad.
Merriam Webster defines spy as this:
I think that fits.
Theres nothing secret here though.
I think the targets are generally unaware of the monitoring
Who are the targets and who is receiving the info then? Because it sounds like youre accusing her of being Mossad, but then I'll redirect you to the start of the thread: https://hexbear.net/comment/4880137
Palestinians in Palestine and in the US.
What do you think, "counter-terrorism" means in Israel, where she works?
Youre making more and more abstract arguments and getting further and further from the concrete topic at hand.
Being the most genocidal cops on the planet. At that point making stretches to smear them spies is FUD.
I answered your question and pointed out how you're being silly.
I give up on this conversation.
to me that says spy.

Okay well then yes I’m doing that explicitly. Why does that matter though?

I fail to see the difference tbh, anyone casually passing the information is going to read israel and spy in the same sentence. Its just semantics
