Just to clarify in case my tone wasn't clear, but they have absolutely had COVID (or other diseases due to COVID-based immune damage) from their kids' school but just claim it's not. They don't get tested because they think "COVID is over".
I get what you mean but it would make full sense to me that some people register their lungs long term being half gone from several rounds of COVID as repeated episodes of "strange completely unidentifiable respiratory diseases”.
The people I know with kids have had "strange completely unidentifiable respiratory diseases" that definitely aren't COVID basically once a month.
