An unnamed official told The Washington Post new guidelines will be proposed in the coming days, ending a decades-long policy born of the AIDS crisis.

According to Equaldex, this will give several US states a perfect 100 in legal rights for the LGBT community.

    California, Oregon, Washington, Hawaii, New York, Minnesota, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Illinois, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Colorado, New Jersey, Delaware, and Maryland will now have a perfect 100 on legal equality, making up roughly 40% of the US population.
