I know there's limits to what a guy like this can do, but the whole spectacle feels way too "White Man's Burden"-y. Especially when the constable/sheriff guy casually notes that he can't take care of a ten month baby. Like, they're implying that they can take her kid for being poor. Fucking horrendous.
