Elder Scrolls Online does have a lot of microtransactions and not all of them are cosmetic (a lot of them are paid bypasses of timegates for mount training, crafting research, and XP boosting and so on), but I still enjoy it, slop and all, for what it's worth. There's certainly worse out there and the prequel treatment it gives to Vvardenfell in its Morrowind section is not bad and surprisingly continuity friendly.

I agree with you. They almost tried to improve it but the "animation cancel" metagamer tryhards threw a tantrum and forced everyone to continue doing "animation canceling" light attack weaving that looks really janky and uncinematic if they want to reach damage thresholds in modern scaled boss fights.

(Endwalker culminates in quite literally the best fight ever made using the system and I’m not being hyperbolic, the fight at the end of Endwalker that I will not spoil is the grand culmination of over 20 years of the genres developments in tab target)

Regarding that FFXIV fight, (CW: story spoiler)

        spoiler

I wish I could have a fourth option where I do as Alisaie warned him about back in Garlemald, and just walked away, leaving him as unfulfilled as he deserved to be for all he had done. :troll:

I'd have settled for that pissing off Zenos so much that he tries to gank my Warrior of Light when his back is turned and the fight proceeds anyway.
