It's not just the libs fault. The state of Israel has wanted that to happen for decades now and have been lobbying to get the definition officially changed. Helps them deflect criticism of the colonial atrocities they commit.

They won't. Israel doesn't give a shit about Jewish people who aren't in their ultra-nationalist fascist cult. They're happy to support and align with literal neo-nazis and other actually anti-semitic groups, in part because the targeting of Jewish people elsewhere reinforces their argument that they need a terroristic, genocidal ethnostate in a constant state of war for safety.
British Christians actually use it to mean a wide variety of things, up to and including "thinking killing disabled people is bad."
