They would employ TF2 rules and get auto assigned to red team to “even out the playing field.”

Would be extremely funny to see the handwringing if the Dems won like 98% of the vote for every seat in 2024 because every gop voter was dead, and how they would try to fight their own victory

There was some old comedy movie where the entire British Royal Family gets electrocuted during a photo op and the nearest living claimnant to the crown is some random American working class dude. Called "King Ralph" I think?

Just that, but for the US government.

the amount of strokes caused by the mass realisation that they just became "authoritarians" based on their own definitions would immediately collapse the american healthcare system

Every single one of the GOP fucks would be instantly rehabilitated

the Dems encourage the formation of a new and more radical GOP because that's "democracy"

3d print a bunch of stamps with the names of any potential targets (anyone with net worth over $10m, anyone in intelligence services) in 2 point font first, then start stampin' as fast as I can.

Spend a couple days memorizing faces, then. I will go to shinigami court to fight for the legalization of stamps.

Do you think the Shinigami realm tries to use ChatGPT to write down death prompts and use AI art generator to “think” of faces

It's been established that you can tear pages out of the book, the best way to do this is to get a cadre together and write names as a team.

I would simply call the Shinigami luddites for refusing the explore the potential limits of the technology and being held back by primitive cultural taboos.

Meh. Hire someone to write a program that will flash the cover of every magazine published in 2021 at you at 144 frames per second, you'll see them all eventually.

Remember, folks, this book isn't just a killing machine, it can also mind control people for up to 23 days before their written date of death! The possibilities for using it to enact real, meaningful change are endless.

Light Yagami used the death note to enact the will of fascist policing agencies the world over. By killing criminals and alleged criminals reported on in the news, Light Yagami essentially gave the police the power of judge, jury, and executioner without any of the negative press that comes with police brutality. The police are ultimately in complete control over who they arrest, therefore they control which names labelled criminal that reach kira and which that don't.

It is truly a testament to the sheer arrogance and stupidity of Light Yagami that while directly enacting the will of capital's enforcers using an anonymous, magical WMD, he still managed to get himself caught by a 12 year old leading a CIA offshoot that had by that point lost all state backing and had been whittled down to like three agents.

I find people's explanation for what they'd do with this thing really depressing, mostly. Idk if I have a good understanding of power, but folks are like "I'd change the world by killing this bad person!" while I'm looking up every living winner of the Administrative Assistant of the Year award and finding out which politician's career they're single-handedly keeping afloat.

Very strange book. There's no coherent story, just a bunch of names listed.
