I have a friend that passively tries to get me to play MTG with him.
Should I download this deck, learn the rules, and surprise him?
Looking at some of the cards, I worry my brain won't be able to process the rules easily :stalin-stressed:
Once you understand the jargon, it's really not too bad, but yeah it can seem a bit daunting at first.
It does what it says on the card as long as you know what all the words mean.😅
Btw, if you do really want to learn, the Arena software has a really good tutorial system that starts you off with the basics.
oh they made the game good again? i quit when they spent several consecutive years making threats better than answers
Before I started playing magic I thought that vid was a joke. It's pretty spot on.
Decks that run a lot of board control can be overwhelming and obnoxious if that's not the kind of experience you enjoy or are looking for. IMO magic is best played with a group of people who have a mutual understanding of the collective game experience the group wants to have. At the same time, counters and interaction are an intimate part of the game (especially for blue and white) so it can be a tough balance to strike.
If my incredibly intricate and stupid combo works even once out of a hundred games, I consider it a success.
:downbear: Commander is the superior format and I'll fight anyone on this
My friend likes commander tho and I have a deck right here, though. Any reason why?
Word. The chances of me picking it up are honestly slim anyways.
I miss playing Magic. If it wasn't so expensive, I'd still be way into it
