You know those dog collars that are supposed to shock the dog if they bark? Shoutout to my friend who, while drunk, decided to see if they work by holding one up to his neck and yelling. Narrator voice: They work.
My parents bought one of those once when I was a kid because the neighbours kept complaining about the dog barking. They concluded after about a week that they don't work at all. That would be because I secretly removed the electrodes from it on the first day.
Yeah, I've never had a dog, so I don't know what the appropriate thing is to do if you want to train it to bark less, but I'm pretty sure the answer isn't "shock it until it stops."
depends why it's barking. If a dog is barking to boss you around you should just ignore it and it will stop. If a dog is barking at squirrels then you should make it so the dog isn't able to see squirrels by getting it away from the window

:rat-salute:
what kind of fucking psycho designed collars that shock dogs for barking. Just don't have a dog if you're going to abuse dogs for barking
peak america is being too lazy to do animal abuse by hand
