I've heard of Lose It and My Fitness Pal. Anyone have experience with them or other ones?

Edit: Sorry about the laggy response, my shifts have been longer lately.

Sounds promising. I'd like to start keeping a better track on what I eat to more efficiently lose weight. Somehow I lost 40 pounds in a year through informal calorie cutting.

It's kind of expensive but worth it imo it just makes logging so easy. Also macronutrient balance really matters and it's nice to have targets for each, not sure if other apps provide that. Anyway I just put in my goals and the fat started melting off it was great. As long as you log dutifully and weigh yourself regularly the algo really works.

I'm taking a break from that stuff for a minute though as it can get obsessive if you're wired that way

I could go with a year's subscription. I agree with the need to monitor macros. I've been eating a lot less meat lately, with more vegetarian-type protein as a substitute (mostly in the hope that it reduces cholesterol /saturated fat). I should see what that has been doing over time.

If you've been trying to shed weight and having a hard time lack of protein could be a big driver. I was shocked by how little I was getting before I started logging... Like 30g a day. I literally quadrupled my intake. I'm at 140 now.

It can be done vegan though just have to eat a ton of seitan / tofu / tvp. Vegetarian is easier with the addition of egg whites.

I gotta eat more egg whites. Maybe put them with breakfast and lunch. Maybe buy more of that almond cheese to put on it.

Idk, I seem to be keeping up a steady decline in body fat. I'm nearly out of overweight range. I just hope if I keep it all off, I can delay becoming insulin dependent for as long as possible. Being surrounded by morbidly obese diabetics all the time scares me like that.

Plus reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease from diet helps too, since that's also a major long-term complication.
