Like is is it preferable or not for China to be as militarily advanced as possible given the threat of the US? Does this make direct military conflict more or less likely? Will it incentivize the US state, in particular hawkish officials, the deep-state and elements of the military-industrial complex to push for more and earlier provocation (thinking better now than later, given evidence of the US's secular decline)?
