I spent yesterday at work alone except for one other person who is not supposed to run register because of their other duties. I'm a salary assistant manager who spends most of my time doing bullshit crew work. That's already an issue.

Meanwhile I am sitting here with a knot in my stomach because I know I'm going to be in trouble next time I work with the store manager because yesterday was the weekly push credit cards day and I didn't get any. Granted, I don't like pushing them anyway because as far as I'm concerned the place I work shouldn't have credit cards anyway. I've told the store manager that, and have asked if I could use the religious/moral exception bullshit that pharmacy can use to avoid birth control as a reason I don't ask about them (yeah, the answer was nope).

Regardless, I caved and actually asked people yesterday just so I wouldn't have to hear about it from the SM and district manager. And I got none. Because even without the ethical issues, I'm just not a salesperson. Fortunately, I do have a couple of witnesses that I was actually asking, but I'm still gonna get shit about it. I have enough bullshit to do without worrying about trying to sell 24% APR credit cards. SM has even tried to convince me to use my Spanish speaking to try to sucker in the large Hispanic population in the area. How about nah. I already end up doing unofficial translation duties in pharmacy and photo.

Anyway, no real point to this, just annoyance eating me up and a need to get it out of my head. Thanks for listening, comrades.

I really hate how you're taught in school in the US that a second language will "look great on a resume" and "it'll get you more pay" when in reality you'll be on unofficial translation duty for no extra pay, and you'll have rando white people go "oh say a few words in [LANGUAGE]." Not like Karen knows anything of what you're saying anyway but she has to hear it.

Shit sucks, I hope you can find something better.
