I believe the US and Mexico have a vested interest in keeping the other nations filled with corruption in order to appear as "the big fish" in the region hence why they always are a joke when they reach the world cup stage. If they want to succeed the competitive play in the entire region has to succeed as well.

They have Tampered with the CONCAChampions tournament so much in order to avoid upsets like this and i fuckin love it when it still occurs.
