Yes they are. Look into vacant black eyes of a chicken, see how it can ruthlessly attack smaller animals and now imagine it was the size of a T-rex. That is feathered dinosaurs.
Hot take, dinosaurs being giant birds is way cooler and more interesting than them being giant lizards, and feathered dinosaurs are definitely still scary because giant birds are terrifying.
