Back when the pandemic first hit I pulled the trigger and got a home gym setup with a power cage and barbell and it remains one of my best decisions by far. Work from home so it's super easy to go out to my garage and bust one out on a lunch break now.
I agree: under socialism every home should have a dedicated gym space. It will become much easier to do when we have eliminated personal car ownership.
I spent $600 on a used power rack, olympic bar, bench, and about 700 lbs of plates like a year before the pandy started, can't believe how lucky I was with that one. It was worth it just to never have to deal with other gym-goers again, never mind not having to drive to the gym or pay for a membership anymore.
