On some websites, you can use the zapper from uBlock origins to remove the elements blocking you from reading the rest of the article.
That's would I do. uBlock Origin stays undefeated as the best extension on the net.
I also use bypass paywall and it's pretty great. They have it for firefox too, you just have to find the section on that GH page
seems some of the big papers, like the post and times are 13ft tall now
Sacrifice a goat at full moon and pray to the dark deities that someone copy pasted the article in the comments.

just enter the website you want to visit in the wayback machine
- Search the article online normally by it's name
- (If on mobile) "Request desktop site" once you get to the search results
- Click/long-press on link, select "copy link address".
- Paste link address into lower search field on archive.ph
This works 95% of the time for me.
