I've seen an above average amount of Episode 1s this time around.

This is good, go watch.

Heavenly Delusion

Mobile Suit Gundam: Witch from Mercury S2

Enjoyable

Yuri is my Job!

The Dangers in My Heart

Kawaisugi Crisis [a shitpost but endearingly so]

Otaku Elf [it has product placement :agony-shivering:]

Mid

KonoSuba: An Explosion on This Wonderful World! [tbh I never cared much for Megumin]

The Aristocrat's Otherworldly Adventure: Serving Gods Who Go Too Far [generic af]

My Love Story with Yamada-kun at Lv999

I hate the MC, but otherwise mid

I Got a Cheat Skill in Another World and Became Unrivaled in The Real World, Too [incel power fantasy]

Skip and Loafer [the MC gives off young conservative member vibes}

The Legendary Hero is Dead!

Awful - So Bad It's Good

KamiKatsu: Working for God in a Godless World [Hilarious Trainwreck, questionable views, quite horny]

Awful

My One-Hit Kill Sister [incest, horny, isekai]

Summoned to Another World for a Second Time [horrendously sexist MC and very boring. It was in fact the show that broke my resolve in watching most new releases.]

Only seen G-Witch, Demon Slayer and Hell's Paradise so far. Heavenly Delusion and Oshi no Ko are next on the list.

The episode 1 twist in Hell's Paradise, where the edgy nihilist OP protag is

    spoiler

    actually the ultimate Wife-Guy

works a heck of a lot better than it should, and the deuteragonist is pretty cool herself. But imo the animation is pretty rough for a MAPPA outing.

Speaking of animation, Demon Slayer in 1 episode looks better than entire goddam movies lmao, pity it's a show for 14 year olds. (Not a knock against the show, it is what it is, but damn I really am starting to feel like I'm outgrowing the medium.)

What's frustrating is that the show managed to stay well clear of unnecessary fanservice of its women characters, until now. You can practically hear the collective :awooga: going off.

Yeah, feels like they're trying to balance out baby-Nezuko. Or using her as an excuse to get away with it. Tbf, it was kind of a horny episode overall, the whole trying to bond through nudity got a laugh out of me.
