I honestly generally only keep real friends on my social media, and it's incredibly obnoxious to meet someone who seems genuinely friendly out in the world and has you add them on social media only to find out you are just a way to buff their numbers. Like this has happened enough times that I think the next time a stranger has me add them I'm going to immediately scroll their shit to see what's up and tell them to fuck themselves if I find out that's their game.

Quick mention: almost every time this has happened it's been from a dude, girls don't talk to me bc I keep casually mentioning how I want to wheel out all capitalists and their enablers into the largest nearby public park and do a hilarious comedy fest involving guillotines

I usually don’t talk about politics with people until I see their reaction to something in the news like Elon’s cars running over children

Funnily enough, it's mostly girls that do this to me.

We are now the commodity. This includes our relationships. Networking events, MLM meetings, church gatherings and now influencers. It’s all the same

Yeah, I tried getting into various social groups over the past 3 years or so only to discover most of them were just looking to network real estate deals, or grow their financial tips youtube channel or whatever

This happens at conventions a lot. You'll have a conversation with someone and they'll give you their social media and then you realize they were marketing and now want you to become their youtube/twitch/onlyfans subscriber. Sorry, not what I was looking for
