    When exactly did it swap? Because women were considered hornier for a long time.

    Even as recently as the 80's husbands were generally depicted as less horny than their wives in sitcoms.

      Seems to have coincided with the industrial revolution. Around then women's sexuality was considered a disease, like hysteria and wandering womb. The vibrator was initially invented as a psychiatric instrument.

        Nah, women being hornier goes back to Antiquity at least (Helen of Troy, Pasiphaë, Aphrodite, Leda etc.). Just not sure when men became the "hornier sex".

          Yeah that's what I meant, that's when women's sexuality started to get treated as unnatural and unhealthy, rather than simply something inherent.
