as others have said, once you verify there aren't any living on your body or the bodies of others in your house, you're fine. check yourself and your pets/people a couple of times over the next days.

ticks are incredible at catching a ride on fur and fabric. they climb up onto vegetation at animal height and then hold their appendages out (with their little hooks) to snag onto passersby. the technical term for this behavior is "questing" which makes me laugh every time i think about it.
