I like documentaries as a kind of Wikipedia page style where you get a lot of points to look further into and expand upon rather than as a definitive source of truth, but I'm sure that's not how most people use them
when you're reading its easy to stop & challenge assertions but the nature of film just gish-gallops you whether you're a skeptical subject or not. what, are you going to pause every five minutes?
A bit hyperbolic I'd say, but yes you can write down what you want to read more on or you can pause and 'live' fact check it. It's no different than reading an article or listening to a lecture
