i need to watch dougram, i feel like i'd like it more than i liked votoms.
i mean, i liked votoms, but i was expecting more politics and grounded stuff, and the back half was very much not that. and even the front half was a fair bit less serious than i expected. my favorite episodes were probably the ones on that ship that felt straight out of the prisoner, where chirico keeps getting woken up by the videos of his atrocities with that marching music. that ruled

i watched that hour long video essay that was posted on here a while back on dougram and immediately put it on my watchlist. the only problem is that 75 episodes is a lot and i have other commitments and i'm still trying to watch a bunch of gundam, so my mecha backlog is pretty full already. i wanna watch it though, it seems great!

Oh yeah, that's the highlight of the show. I also liked the final arc, which is perhaps somewhat controversial.
Dougram on the other hand is a story of a revolutionary movement conducting a guerrilla war. It's heavy on politics and much of it is pretty good.
