Excuse me, according to Comrade Chang, China collapsed in 2011. But you know, it is like a star so it takes years for us to see the actual collapse.

I have never understood the obsession with Tankman by liberals. If this was most western countries, they'd have just driven over the guy. We have seen police do exactly that in protest after protest.

Even before I saw the full clip and was a deluded socdem, I always saw it as a testament to the patience and consideration of the PLA.

Tank man was actually obstructing the tanks from leaving the square (i.e. moving away from the protests) so theoretically he could have been some hard core Communist who wanted the PLA to go back and crush the color revolutionaries for good lmao.

What's especially fucked up is that there is an actual real life version of events like this that did happen in a "Western" "country".

      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rachel_Corrie

Rachel Corrie was protesting the destruction of Palestinian homes by the Zionist forces in Rafah, and stood in front of a bulldozer that was attempting to flatten a house. The driver didn't stop, and drove over her, crushing and killing her.

Yet we don't see the internet commemorating her death every year and condemning the people who actually did it. Shameful.

I always thought it was implied that he was ran over or something. The picture really doesn't mean anything otherwise, and the US education system really doesn't try to explain any further than "this one guy standing in front of 3 tanks? he was like totally massacred bro, trust me".

Also the man who took this picture and said nothing really happened is also a Chinese paid shill even though he works for the British media

worst part is tank man was trying to get the tanks to go back to the plaza not trying to stop them going in. He wanted the terrorist dealt with, his OUR hero not theirs.

Honestly, if they were ever going to color overthrow China that was the time, when China was still rock bottom poor and socialism worldwide was in a rapid downward turn. A color revolution in China now is about as likely as the US having civil war 2 so it's understandable why liberals would still be seething about it all these years later.

it genuinely makes me happy to know how mad liberals are that it didn't work lol. like you can hear it in how they talk about it. they fucking hate that China is powerful now

The amount of people who genuinely don't know that Tank Man both survived and wanted the Tanks to kill protesters is insane to me. Everything about that image is distorted from reality.

It's a common theory because he was blocking tanks from EXITING the area, which only really makes sense if he wants them to turn around and "do their job", however he would perceive that.

It is yeah but there’s no way to prove he was trying to get the tanks to go back to the square. Maybe he was, but who knows
