plastics should have stayed a medical invention instead of being used for literally everything. who remembers those plastic commercials in the 90s? i remember it showed a kid knocking a 2 liter on the ground and it was like "see soooo much safer than glass plz buy plastic"
the amount of unnecessary plastics in everything is ridiculous. like why is every accessory included with electronics wrapped in plastic? paper or cardboard would do just fine but noo that wouldn't be a good "UNBOXING EXPERIENCE™"
Everything from the cheapest to most decadent commodities should avoid plastics as much as possible and use regular cardboard boxes with black labelling. Packaging always goes into trash after a few days ffs. Capitalists really want everyone to soyface over fancy colors on the box.
Paper packaging gives me a better "unboxing" experience because it's actually tactile and premium feeling vs a staticky crinkly plastic bag. I think they just use plastic because it costs a few less cents and it adds up.

Exactly. This sort of "doom without definition" has really worked against any protests of the petrochemical giants.
We aren't given data we can metabolise, so we just assume the risks are low but there are a hundreds of different risks vectors shooting for s dozen things that will kill you.
If we knew what each poison we are ingesting does, we could mitigate some risk to each potential cause of death and drastically increase our survival time, but instead we are clueless and left with all or nothing options.
